| | | |- Started with Java, and I still like it

| | | | tbh (this MAY be Stockholm Syndrome),

| | | | tho I'll admit that Kotlin is pretty

| | | | sweet. Also, I'll include it here due to

| | | | its similarity, ig: Had an

| | | | extracurricular course in C# way back in

| | | | primary school, and then just recently a

| | | | mandatory one at uni. And the lang's

| | | | fine, ig.

| | | |- Has some random, private, very tiny
_
| | | | one-off codebases in Python, tho I don't

| | | | like it that much (I basically treat it

| | | | as „slightly smarter Bash”, and
_
| | | | everything I make in it is almost always
_
| | | | hacky and just barely good enough to do
_
| | | | the single one-off task it was meant to
_
| | | | do).

| | | |- ...And some public small codebases in

| | | | Go. I tried to love it, tho to be

| | | | completely honest, it feels just like

| | | | Python, in that it somehow

| | | | subconsciously encouraged me to take

| | | | involve causing a bunch of side-effects

| | | | in FS operations).

| | | |- Recently tried learning Rust (this very

| | | | site's generator is written in it,

| | | | actually - rewrite from Go) and I

| | | | already love it. It really feels much
_
| | | | like Java/Kotlin and unlike Python/Go

| | | | (even though both Rust and Go are

| | | | technically compiled and have you work
_
| | | | with pointers and stuff, so I was
_
| | | | expecting them to feel similar), in that

| | | | I actually think about the design of my
_
| | | | system before I even start writing it,
_
| | | | instead of figuring it out as I go, and
_
| | | | praying for the best.

| | | |- If I'm talking about systems-level langs

| | | | already, I'll also mention that a couple

| | | | of times I was forced to use C/C++

| | | | against my will; hated every second of
_
| | | | it. Still, I got the assigned tasks

| | | \- JS/TS is okay, tho I feel like I'm

| | | over-handling my errors due to some
_
| | | unspecified paranoia every time I write
_
| | | it. xD (Also, like, 4/5 more serious

| | | JS/TS projects I was involved with,

| | | happened to either be contributions to,
_
| | | or be based on, existing codebases (and
_
| | | the one that's was made from scratch is
_
| | | a SolidJS site, so a certain structure

| | | got imposed on me) - so I cannot judge

| | | whether JS makes me „think about the
_
| | | design of my system before I even start
_
| | | writing it” or if it incentivises
_
| | | hackyness (like Python/Go), tho I feel

| | | like it's the latter. xD)

| | | Overall, I'd rate myself as „an adaptable

| | | little creature”. I think I can easily
_
| | | pick up whatever
_
| | | language/framework/environment I get
_
| | | thrown at.

| | |- Open-source-ify EVERYTHING! Preferably with

| | | federation (that actually works, looking at
_
| | | you ActivityPub), if it's in any way a
_
| | | social system.

| | |- I don't hate AI on principle (tbh, as far

| | | as my integration nerd side goes, I think
_
| | | it's the ultimate adapter, and I'm quite
_
| | | excited for its application in that way;
_
| | | also, search summaries are genuinely good,
_
| | | and one of the reasons why I didn't switch

| | | my Zen Browser from default DuckDuckGo to

| | | my „officially preferred” Startpage yet), I

| | | just think outsourcing something you have

| | | the skill to do yourself (or not even

| | | considering developing said skill as an

| | | option, if you don't have it yet), be it

| | | coding stuff, or literally talking to

| | | people (god, agents you can meet in the

| | | wild, or „people who just post AI replies”,

| | | are so fkin annoying), is just incredibly

| | | lame. I think my stance on AI is the same

| | | as on cars, broadly (and my stance on that

| | | is similar to Adam Something's): Why

| | | develop a dependency on something, that we
_
| | | already could do in a different way, and
_
| | | said way is better for you, people around
_
| | | you, and society at large? Also, using it
_
| | | to make architectural/design decisions is

| | | always a bad idea, unless you want to end

| | | up with a random dependency on Supabase for

| | | a project that barely needs a backend (no,

| | | I'm totally not ranting about my own
_
| | | experiences with a vibecoder, what makes

| FTW (I'm sorry, Adam); it lets you get to

| very high service frequency for passengers,

| and is much safer for freight (there is a

| reason Australia automated its

| multiple-days-long cargo train journeys -

| you really don't want to send a crew to
_
| such remote areas). Although I much more
_
| care about proven automation systems
_
| (ETCS/ERTMS) than a „yet another gadgetbahn

| guided bus”.

Tying it all together, there's an LLDAP-powered

central user registry (with an additional

Authelia gate for SSO and 2FA - speaking of

LLDAP directly)), for all GuzioHub services. For

now, only the 3 services above have any kind of

an account system, so only they integrate with

GuzioHub Account (yes, I hooked my Minecraft

whitelist into LDAP, xD), but expansion is very

much on the table (in particular, I'm looking

into Forgejo, AT-Proto (aka BlueSky - but I

prefer to call it by its ecosystem name, not by

the name of the particular instance, that happens

to be the most popular) and Fediverse (tho my

integration-nerd self is preventing me from

moving forward with it and AT-Proto quite yet
